Kay Rysha
I founded Richborough Nursery with a simple dream; to create a truly wonderful environment where I would feel proud and confident to bring my own child. That belief continues to guide everything we do today.

I always try to see through the lens of a parent. Every decision we make, from how we design our spaces to who joins our team, is based on one question: “Would I want this for my own child?”
​
Our team collectively brings over 50 years of childcare experience, but equally importantly, we hire for people who clearly strive to make a positive impact each day to the lives of the children we care for. I’m incredibly proud of the passion and commitment our team show every day.
​
You’ll find me at the nursery daily, focusing closely on the quality of care and ensuring every child has a wonderful time, feels secure, and enjoys positive, nurturing interactions with their caregivers.
​
I also believe strong communication and trust between parents and the nursery are key. That’s why I have a private WhatsApp group with each individual family, so parents can reach me directly, privately at any point in the day. Whether it’s a quick question about something at nursery, a query about how to approach a situation at home, or simply to ask for a bit of advice or support.

At Richborough Nursery, quality and care go hand in hand and I’m deeply proud of the warm, family-centred community we’ve built.

Based in the heart of Cricklewood, our nursery is committed to establishing a nurturing "home away from home" atmosphere, where children can embark on an enriching learning journey.
Our goal is to provide a fun and educational experience while prioritising their comfort and safety. We firmly believe that a secure and welcoming environment lays the foundation for lifelong learning and development.
Child Centred Approach

It is for this reason that we are committed to offering your child an enjoyable and stimulating experience, equipping them with the skills and confidence needed to thrive academically as they embark on their school years.
EYFS
Richborough Nursery places a strong emphasis on tailoring activity planning individually for each child through the Intent, Implement, Impact framework.
We align our activities with the EYFS curriculum and adapt them to suit the developmental stage, interests, and requirements of each child. Ongoing assessment ensures the effectiveness of these activities in promoting their growth and learning.

About Us
Richborough Nursery is situated in the heart of Cricklewood. Our private, home-based nursery caters to children aged 6 months to 5 years, offering a nurturing environment that feels just like home.
​
Our core ethos revolves around fostering a homely and caring atmosphere while building strong connections with both children and their families. We understand that effective parent partnership is essential for a child's holistic development and future success.

Choosing the right nursery is a significant decision, and we appreciate the importance of making this choice. That's why we are committed to providing a caring and nurturing setting that not only embraces your child but also stimulates their learning and development. This approach ensures they are well-prepared for their educational journey ahead.

At Richborough Nursery, we operate on a first-come, first-served basis, with a waiting list to accommodate applications. Rest assured that applications are processed in the order they are received, ensuring fairness and transparency in our enrolment process.
​
Our nursery is open from Monday to Friday, offering extended hours from 8 am to 6 pm, and we remain open for 50 weeks each year, providing consistent and reliable childcare support for your family.

My daughter has been very happy at Richborough nursery for the last two years, she’s been loved, she’s been listened to, and cared for like a family member. From the first day we met, to settling in, to the outstanding care and attention they pay to the children every single day; Richborough excels across the board.
The communication to parents is fantastic, the time spent planning activities so the children can progress at their pace, goes above and beyond most nursery standards. The feedback and observations are reassuring. The kindness and compassion they show the children is wonderful and it feels like a family. In addition to this, they also prioritise developing and retaining staff, which is a huge positive for the children.
The safeguarding and procedures and processes are also of excellent quality. It was a great sadness to leave such a fantastic setting.
